Raychel Gary leads Airbnb’s Global Disaster Response Team, overseeing worldwide operations that monitor hundreds of disaster events each year. Under her leadership, the team has become a trusted partner across the organization, recognized for cross-functional collaboration, real-time intelligence, and an unwavering commitment to resilience. They coordinate enterprise-wide responses to protect Airbnb’s hosts, guests, and the broader community of stakeholders. Since joining the company, she has been instrumental in shaping its disaster readiness strategy, developing policies and orchestrating responses to global crises including natural disasters, armed conflicts, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Before Airbnb, Raychel worked in veteran housing services, disability services, and nonprofit leadership, where she designed crisis response programs, managed multi million-dollar initiatives, and built cross-sector partnerships to serve vulnerable populations. She holds a degree in Environmental Sociology and is passionate about disaster preparedness, sustainability, and global travel.
