Data gaps during emergencies cause uncertainty and this is especially challenging during rapidly changing weather conditions. This talk will examine how state and local Emergency Management offices are using real-time environmental data to fill situational awareness gaps between forecast products and on-the-ground conditions. We’ll highlight lessons learned from recent deployments and how diverse datasets (hydro, fire weather, road weather) can be layered into a unified view to enhance local readiness.
